Albanian Riviera & Southern Treasures
Crystal-clear waters, UNESCO cities, and the most beautiful coastline in the Mediterranean you've never heard of.
The eastern Adriatic coastline is one of Europe’s most extraordinary continuous landscapes: from the Roman palace in Split’s old town to the fortress walls of Dubrovnik, across the Ottoman bridge in Mostar, through the UNESCO Bay of Kotor, and down to the forgotten turquoise coves of the Albanian Riviera. No other stretch of European coastline offers this density of history, beauty, and cultural contrast in a single connected journey.
Inside Balkan’s Adriatic Arc tour follows this coastline over 12 days, moving south from Split through Croatia and Bosnia before turning southeast through Montenegro into Albania. The route is carefully paced — enough time at each destination to go beyond the famous sights and discover what makes each place genuinely remarkable, but enough momentum to cover the full arc without rushing.
The tour ends in Albania — specifically at Ksamil and Butrint on the Greek border — which means it finishes at the quietest and most beautiful section of the entire Adriatic coast. Guests who have spent five days in the tourist infrastructure of Split, Dubrovnik and Kotor typically find the transition to Albania revelatory: the same Adriatic light, the same quality of water, but without the crowds, at a fraction of the cost, and with a depth of authenticity that the more famous destinations have largely lost.
Inside Balkan has deep expertise across all four countries covered by this tour. Our partnerships with local operators in Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro ensure quality experiences throughout, while our native Albanian knowledge makes the final section of the journey as rich and immersive as possible.
May–June and September–October. July–August is wonderful but Dubrovnik and Hvar are at their most crowded. The shoulder seasons offer the best combination of good weather and authentic experience.
Travellers who want to see the full Adriatic arc in one trip, combining Croatia’s famous highlights with the less-visited depths of Bosnia and Albania. Suitable for all fitness levels.
