Albanian Riviera Beach & Culture Week

📅 7 Days / 6 Nights 👥 Max 16 🎂 Ages 18-75 📍 Sarandë / Sarandë 🏔 Easy 💰 From €840 per person

The Albanian Riviera is Europe’s last great undiscovered coastline. Stretching from Sarandë in the south to Vlorë in the north, it combines the turquoise clarity of the Ionian Sea with cliffside villages, ancient ruins, Roman-era olive groves, and a food culture that ranks among the finest on the Mediterranean. It is what the Greek islands were before mass tourism arrived — beautiful, authentic, and genuinely affordable.

Inside Balkan’s Albanian Riviera Beach & Culture Week is designed to immerse guests in this coastline over a full seven days, based in a seaside hotel in Sarandë and venturing out each day to a different section of the Riviera or its hinterland. The pace is deliberately relaxed: mornings are for culture, afternoons are for swimming, and evenings are for long dinners of grilled fish and cold local wine on terraces above the sea.

The week combines the UNESCO ruins of Butrint — one of the great archaeological sites of the Mediterranean — with the extraordinary Blue Eye spring, day trips to the cliff villages of Himara and Dhërmi, a full private boat day along the hidden coves of the coastline, and a half-day in the Ottoman stone city of Gjirokastër. But no day is so full that there is not time for a long swim and an afternoon nap with the sound of the sea.

This is Inside Balkan’s most relaxed tour. It is appropriate for all fitness levels and all ages. It is excellent for families, couples, solo travellers, and groups of friends. And it is, in the experience of our guests, one of the most restorative weeks in Europe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Albanian Riviera Beach & Culture Week

Yes. Ksamil is one of those rare places where photographs actually understate the reality. The Four Islands sit in a bay of shallow, calm water with a clarity and colour — somewhere between turquoise and aquamarine — that most travellers have never seen outside of the Maldives or the Seychelles. The water is warm from June through September. Inside Balkan’s hotel is close enough to walk to Ksamil beach in minutes.
Yes. The Sarandë–Corfu ferry crossing takes approximately 45 minutes and runs multiple times daily in season (May–October). Inside Balkan can arrange onward ferry tickets for guests who want to combine the Albanian Riviera with a Greek island extension. The ferry operator is Finikas Lines; tickets are booked through Inside Balkan.
Yes. Inside Balkan considers the Albanian Riviera Beach & Culture Week one of the best family holiday options in the Mediterranean. Ksamil is ideal for children — shallow, calm, and genuinely beautiful. Butrint is fascinating for children with some historical context. The boat day is a highlight for all ages. Inside Balkan recommends this tour for families with children aged 6 and above.
