Introduction
Explore the beauty and diversity of the Balkans with this 11-day (10-night) itinerary that takes you through Bosnia, Montenegro, and Albania. You’ll start in Sarajevo, the former “Jerusalem of the Balkans,” known for its rich history and diverse architecture. From there, you’ll visit Mostar, where the UNESCO-listed arch bridge connects the city’s two halves and takes you back in time to its Ottoman past.
Next, you’ll travel to the stunning UNESCO-protected Kotor, located on Europe’s southernmost fjord. Then it’s on to Tirana, the vibrant capital of Albania, surrounded by picturesque mountains. Your local guide in the region will be available to you before and during your trip to answer any questions and arrange local services.
Day 1 Arrival in Sarajevo
Upon arrival at the airport in Sarajevo, you will be greeted by a representative and transferred to your centrally located accommodation. The drive takes about 30 minutes. Be sure to visit Baščaršija, the city’s historical and cultural heart. Take a stroll through the old bazaar to Bravadžiluk Street, which is now known for its wide range of famous eateries and gastronomic paradise and immerse yourself in the local culture.
Day 2 Your First Full Day in Sarajevo
